The mission of The Snow Lion Foundation is to promote human rights and religious freedom for Tibet, Taiwan, Uyghur, Inner Mongolia and China.
"Today, more than ever before, life must be characterized by a sense of Universal responsibility, not only nation to nation and human to human, but also human to other forms of life." His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama
"If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor. If an elephant has its foot on the tail of a mouse and you say that you are neutral, the mouse will not appreciate your neutrality." Archbishop Desmond Tutu
"Compassion is the basis of morality." Arthur Schopenhauer
It is hoped that our website may be a place where people can access information regarding the critical human rights and freedom issues currently on-going inside Tibet, China, Uyghur and Inner Mongolia. We also closely monitor and watch events as they unfold inside Taiwan.
We understand that there are many other critical violations of basic human rights world-wide committed by many different governments and organizations. China is not the only abuser on the world stage today of human rights and freedom. This fact is most certainly true and undeniable. Most are under-reported and many never receive the proper attention they truly deserve on the world stage. For this reason we welcome and will consider publishing any constructive submission from our viewers that we feel are on-topic in this regard.
For The Snowlion Foundation, we have decided to mostly focus on those regions and peoples adversely impacted by The Peoples Republic of China. The simple reason for this is because of the sheer enormity of the scale of the many millions of people involved. The destruction and genocide is truly massive and needs much more attention then it ever receives from the mainstream media and from the UN and other governments. Secondly, we understand this region better and are closer to the events there.
The Peoples Republic of China now has an estimated population of 1.3 billion people making it by far the largest nation in the world by population. Despite China's recent economic ascendancy and development, China still ranks number one as the single greatest abuser of human rights and freedoms world-wide today bar-none.
The Chinese communist government (still in power today) according to many historians is directly responsible for the un-natural deaths of somewhere around 70 million people spanning from its earliest inception in the first half of the twentieth century to today. Most of these victims ironically were Chinese nationals themselves.
See the well researched book "Mao, The Unknown Story", by Jung Chang and Jon Halliday for historical facts and backup regarding the CCP's vast crimes against humanity. Book info: CLICK HERE.
By far the greatest genocide ever, and one that can not ever be allowed to be forgotten, lest humanity forget to only commit the same evils again.
It is a staggering number that goes beyond the imagination of any sane mind. Unfortunately for the sake of humanity and justice, this historical fact is largely over-looked or intentionally ignored in the name of power politics and big business enterprise.
"Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere." Martin Luther King, Jr.
Compassionate, educated and peaceful non-violent action are the keys to victory and will always win in the end. Hatred, ignorance and anger consume the victim just as much as the aggressor and only creates more damage all around. In this regard we have been greatly impressed by the achievements and works by both His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama and Mohandas Gandhi. "An eye for eye only ends up making the whole world blind." Mohandas Gandhi
What this website is NOT, is an attack against the Chinese people themselves in any way shape or form! The Chinese people are not their government and are a people with a deep rich heritage and history that has much to offer the human family.
We simply call upon the CCP state to make better and more productive decisions than they have been making. Its that simple. Respect and uphold human rights and freedoms for all peoples in the region rather than just suppress and crush them.
Ultimately we are all in the same boat together on this planet and owe it to ourselves to come up with positive solutions that benefit everyone not for just today, but for the eons ahead.
Think with both your heart and your head, when you spend your money and vote because everything is connected in one way or the other and everything has a consequence.
